Vinh-Liem's Profile

 

Vinh-Liem has been a poet, writer, and journalist since 1964. In the United States, between 1980 and 1986, he has published four books of poems and short stories.

Vinh-Liem's poems were published in "War and Exile" (1987) by Vietnamese Pen Club Overseas; "A Beak In The Clouds" (1993), "At Day's End" (1994), and "Divining Beauty" (2001) by The National Library of Poetry in Owings Mills, Maryland; and “Theatre of the Mind” (2003) by Noble House in the U.K. His poem (“Enemy”) was also recorded in "The Sound of Poetry", released on both compact disc (CD) and cassette tape in Fall 2001 by The International Library of Poetry.

In the years since the fall of South Vietnam in 1975, Vinh-Liem has contributed to many Vietnamese newspapers and magazines in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia as freelance writer and as staff writer.

From 1979 to 1981, Vinh-Liem was managing editor of Hanh Trinh magazine and Hanh Dong newspaper in Washington, DC. He was editor-in-chief of The Vietnam Times from 1984 to 1985 and Sao Trang magazine from 1992 to 1994.
